THE CHALLENGE

Production Challenges:

– Produce 5 unique videos in 5 different cities with limited time and budget
– Orchestrate mini-events to generate real-time mobile engagement
– Source and coordinate local production crews
– Become friends with local permit offices and private businesses
– Release thousands of talent
– Provide on-location art direction services
– Figure out complex travel for crews and props

Post-Production Challenges:

– Compile huge amounts of footage and paperwork
– Edit six individual spots, each with a unique tone and feel
– Find and license unique music selections for each spot from several sources
– Create original and integrated text graphics for vote counting mechanisms

RESULTS

The City Churned campaign was Ben & Jerry’s most ambitious and successful campaign of 2013 and was featured in several press outlets such as Adweek.
